Pilgrimage Hosts

Itinerary

Day One: Sunday, May 4, 2025

  • Depart via scheduled air service. The destination is London, England

 

Day Two: Monday, May 5

  • Arrive in London
  • Meet your Faith Journeys Tour Manager who will assist the group to an
    awaiting chartered motorcoach for an excursion to Windsor Castle. The castle is home to St. George’s Chapel and burial site of King Henry VIII
  • Lunch, on own
  • Late-afternoon hotel check-in
  • Evening Welcome Dinner and overnight

Day Three: Tuesday, May 6

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Enjoy a panoramic city tour of London. Along the way, we can see the iconic landmarks, architectural and cultural diversity, and fascinating history. Before lunch, stop at St. Paul’s Cathedral for a guided tour
  • Lunch, on own
  • Next, stop by Southwark Cathedral for a special visit and tour.
  • Afternoon at leisure for additional sightseeing, shopping, or other activities
  • Evening dinner and overnight

 

Day Four: Wednesday, May 7

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • This morning, we will start at the Tower of London to learn about early history of the city. After the tour, we will enjoy a cruise on the Thames River passing many London landmarks. Land at Westminster Pier and see the Houses of Parliament from the outside before a visit and tour of Westminster Abbey
  • Lunch, on own
  • Afternoon at leisure for additional sightseeing, shopping, or other activities
  • Participate in an Evensong service in Westminster Abbey
  • Evening dinner and overnight

 

Day Five: Thursday, May 8

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • In the morning, we will visit the spiritual capital of not only England, but of the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion. We will drive to Canterbury, where St. Augustine first established a stronghold for Christianity in the British Isles
  • Visit the 6th-century ruins of St. Augustine’s Abbey and walk through Christ Church Gate, and visit Canterbury Cathedral
  • Lunch, on own
  • Return to London in the late afternoon
  • Evening dinner and overnight

 

Day Six: Friday, May 9

  • Breakfast at the hotel
    Transfer to the East Coast of England stopping en route to Ely where we will take a guided tour of the stunning 11th-century building with its world-renown Lady Chapel
  • Lunch, on own
    Enjoy time at leisure to explore the city
    Continue to Cambridge. Enjoy a tour of King’s College and its Chapel, two of the most recognizable buildings in the city
  • Late afternoon hotel check-in
  • Participate in an Evensong service in Cambridge Cathedral
  • Evening dinner and overnight

 

Day Seven: Saturday, May 10

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • This morning we will transfer to Norwich and tour of one of the most complete Norman Cathedrals in England.
  • Lunch, on own
  • Travel to St. Julian’s Church and Shrine where we can visit St. Julian’s Cell and learn more about her life and ministry
  • Evening dinner and overnight in Cambridge

 

Day Eight: Sunday, May 11

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Meet at a local church for Holy Eucharist (tbd)King’s College Chapel -suggest
  • Return to Cambridge
  • Spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring Cambridge
  • Evening dinner and overnight in Cambridge

 

Day Nine: Monday, May 12

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Depart Cambridge and travel to Coventry. Walk through the bombed out shell of the original Coventry Cathedral, destroyed during the blitz, and into the new Cathedral, completed in 1962.
  • Continue on to Stratford-upon-Avon
  • Lunch, on own
    \Visit the Shakespeare Birthplace Museum before some free time to explore.
  • Return to London for an evening dinner and overnight

 

Day Ten: Tuesday, May 13

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer to London’s airport for return flight
